The suspect accused of abusing a boy with autism while being recorded on video made his first appearance in court along with another defendant in the case.
Leonard Bernal and James Russ have been indicted on child abuse and false imprisonment charges. Bernal is the suspect accused of kneeing the boy in the head while Russ may have recorded the video.
The abuse allegedly happened at Camelot, a home for children with autism, in southeast Albuquerque sometime in 2009 in 2010.
